Why is it called pink disease?
The disease is named because a pink to salmon-coloured fungal growth appears on branches and trunks of infected tree.
Causal Organism – Corticium salmonicolor
Symptoms-
- Initially the disease seen on stem with pinkish powdery coating on it.
- The plants may show dieback symptoms in younger branches and leaves fall prematurely.
- Thin pink inclusions are seen more on the lower shaded side of the leaves.
