How to do training of Bael plant?

After about 2 months of plantation, (once it attains the height of 3 ft) the plant is headed back at 2 – 2.5 ft height from the ground. This checks the vertical growth of the plant and promotes horizontal branches.

  • Retain 3-4 well-spaced and oriented new shoots above 2 ft in the main stem from the ground level.
  • Do not keep any branches below 2 ft in the main stem.
  • When the plant is young and its branches begin to grow it bends toward the ground, so to make it grow upright it requires support, so staking should be done.
