Training Programs by VNR Nursery

VNR as an organisation believes in dissemination of knowledge and uplifting the skill sets and technological awareness of fellow farmers. VNR has always worked in the interest of fellow farmers and come up with innovative products to increase the profitability of farming community.

One such initiative of VNR and its alliance company – VNR Nursery is creating awareness about Vegetable Grafting Technology. VNR started its research in vegetable grafting technology as early as 1998, when Dr. Narayan Chawda returned after attending a workshop at World Vegetable Center (WorldVeg) and later, attended a training program under Dr. Jung-Myung LEE at Kyung Hee University, Seoul, South Korea. He started with a very modest success rate of 30% and after a decade of committed efforts, setting up various protocols and standardised processes suited to Indian environment, he could achieve the success rate of 98%.

After achieving professional acumen ship in vegetable grafting technology, VNR commercialised the technology for benefit of farmers and at the same time, also started an intensive 5-day residential training program for progressive farmers, nurserymen and aspirants.

As contact programs have certain inherent limitations and there are several aspirants who may not be able to attend such contact programs due to non-availability of time and travel constraints. With an objective of reaching out to as many farmers across the regions, VNR decided to offer online course in virtual classroom and practical training model.

These programs are based on the concept of Listening in Knowing & Learning by Doing. These training programs are structured to make the participants learn grafted vegetable technology in virtual classroom session and practice the same in DIY – Do it Yourself model. Virtual field visits are conducted under supervision of trained faculties to observe and understand the real crop and its behaviour.
